I have been on my travels over the last week or so, on the 1st of July I went down tot he winners of the National Fish and Chip Awards Takeaway of the Year, Ship Deck in Caerphily, to launch the 2025 awards. Kim and Ryan lift the trohpy back in February at the awards which took place at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London, presented by the Norwegian Minister of Fisheries, Cecile Myrseth.

It was great to visit Ship Deck again and see how their business has progressed since winning. I then travelled into London for a couple of industry meetings followed by attending the Catey’s Awards at the J.W. Marriot Grovesnor Hotel on Park Lane.

It was my first time at the Catey’s and it was great to see how another awards operated. The food was provided by Raymond Blanc’s team at Le Manoir, which was fantastic as you can imagine, and to produce food of that quality for 1000 people is mind boggling.

The event finished quite late and I had to get back to Euston to grab a few hours sleep before getting the train to collect my car from Watford as I needed to be in Leeds by 10am for a meeting.

Its is great getting out and about but it is good to be back to the day job.
